This policy governs data collection and usage of the services (namely the mobile app ‘InstaLaw’ on iOS and android, and the website ‘www.instalaw.us’) provided by InstaLaw Technology Inc. Information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household is defined as personal information. First and Last name, alias, postal address, social security numbers, driver’s license, passport information, signature, cookies, beacons, pixel tags, telephone numbers, IP addresses, account names, face, retina, fingerprints, DNA, voice recordings, health data, location history via devices, browsing history, search history, data on interaction with a webpage, application or advertisement, personal characteristics, behaviour, religious or political convictions, sexual preferences, employment and education data, financial and medical information are considered as personal information.
Name, email, phone number: This information is collected to create an account on InstaLaw. We will disclose this information only to your potential attorney upon your consent.
Cookies, IP Address, Device info: Cookies (for website) are small files placed on your computer when you access the website. Cookies help us understand your preferences and to distinguish new visitors. Device information (for the app) such as Device ID, running OS, Tokens for push notifications are collected to analyse user trends and prevent any fraud on the mobile app. We use google analytics, mailchimp, and UTM tracking to understand user trends on the website. You may refer to the Terms and Privacy Policy of google analytics and Mailchimp.
Payment information: Your credit card information/bank account information is required for using the services. All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. You may refer to the User Terms of Service Agreement and Privacy Policy of Stripe, Inc.
Questionnaires: Location, type of consultation: This information is collected so as to match you with the right lawyer. Location may be auto filled if you have given location access to InstaLaw. Type of consultation must be filled manually.
2.1 Lawyers: Personal Information that directly identifies you (name, email, phone number) are disclosed to your potential match with your consent.
2.2 Third party Ads: No personal information will be shared to third parties for advertisements/promotions.
2.3 By Law: Your information will be disclosed to law enforcement officials if it is required to comply with the law, or upon requests from law enforcement officials; or to protect InstaLaw’s intellectual property in court/arbitration; or to protect someone’s health or safety.
2.4 Service providers: Your information is shared with our linked service providers (for payments, consultation and support) to serve you better.
There are two modes of communication are available in the service – audio and video. These video meetings and audio calls are not recorded and are not processed. Document sharing is not available in the service yet, hence we request you to take immense care in sharing your documents securely through email.
We take great care in protecting your personal information and preventing any misuse and frauds. You are responsible for not sharing passwords and allowing un-authorised access to your accounts. The data collected are stored on our password-protected server. Our service provider for payments Stripe, Inc., uses strong encryption technology during all credit card transactions. We regularly review and try to stay updated with the latest methods and technology for securely storing your data and providing secure transmission of information between your computer and our servers. However, we cannot give a 100% guarantee on secure transmission as no measures are perfect.
Under the privacy section of the profile tab you can download a copy of your data or delete your profile or access/change your password. In case you want to modify other details like name, email, or phone number we request you to delete your account and create a fresh one. In case of a delete request we will also notify our service providers to have your data deleted.
The privacy policy subject to occasional revision, and if we make any substantial changes, we may notify you by sending you an e-mail to the last e-mail address you provided to us (if any), and/or by prominently posting notice of the changes on our Site. You are responsible for providing us with your most current e-mail address. In the event that the last e-mail address that you have provided us is not valid, or for any reason is not capable of delivering to you the notice described above, our dispatch of the e-mail containing such notice will nonetheless constitute effective notice of the changes described in the notice.
